Plugins

Add-ons for Shilpi. All of them free.

You should not have to handle a ZIP file.

Shilpi ships its own directory screen. Open Shilpi → Plugins in your site’s admin, and every plugin on this page is listed there with an install button. Shilpi downloads it, unpacks it and activates it for you, and from then on new versions arrive in the normal WordPress updates list.

The ZIP links here are for the times that flow is not available, a locked-down host, an air-gapped staging box, or a manual deployment pipeline.

Questions

About the plugins

Why are these separate from the theme?

So they can move at their own pace. A storefront fix, a new element or a new design pack should not wait for a theme release, and a site that sells nothing should not carry the code for one. Keeping them apart makes both the theme and the plugin smaller and easier to trust.

Do I need a Shilpi licence to use them?

The plugins are free and unlicensed. They do need the Shilpi theme to be active, because they extend it, a plugin that adds builder elements has nothing to add them to otherwise.

How do updates work?

Each plugin carries an Update URI header pointing at this site, which is WordPress’s own supported way for a plugin to be updated from somewhere other than WordPress.org. Your site asks this site once every few hours whether a newer version exists; if one does, it shows up in Dashboard → Updates like anything else. The request carries the installed version and your WordPress and PHP versions, so a release that would not run on your server is never offered.

Can I read the source?

The ZIP is the source. These are plain PHP, CSS and JavaScript with no build step and no obfuscation, download one, open it, change it. The GPL gives you that right and nothing here works against it.

Something is broken. Where do I say so?

Write to us from the contact page with the plugin name, its version and what you expected to happen. Free does not mean unsupported.
